This is a very large property - bigger than we expected. It was very clean, well looked after, cool and comfortable. Yaya, the owner, greeted us. He was a lovely guy. We only stayed one night but we actually discussed that we should have stayed longer. The town is significantly less touristy than Luxor and Aswan and in the evening we went about our way almost ignored. This apartment and this town are a good place to rest up and take a break. We really liked this apartment and Yaya made us feel welcome. I would stay at this property again in a heartbeat.

Hamdi took us everywhere we wanted to go; he really took great care of us and our children. He paid a lot of attention to helping us discover Nubian culture and taste some local culinary specialties. We wish we could have stayed a few more days, but we’ll definitely come back without hesitation.

He also served us the hot breakfast. Breakfast: highly recommended. Prepared by Fahd’s mother. Home made Amazing oriental breakfast in earthen pots. House: 4 big rooms with lots of beds. All beautifully designed. 2 bathrooms helped us get ready quickly in the morning.

They operate like a bed and breakfast so the food was made to order and we were able to make customizations for allergies. The host was present and really helpful. The location is on the water with a view of the Nile and the Pillae Temple. The staff at the location was helpful and friendly. We walked around the neighborhood a bit and enjoyed being in Egypt. If you walk down the foot path back to the Pillae docks you are just a few minutes walk from that market. We were comfortable and safe.

Our arrival was seamless; Ahmed arranged our driver from the airport, we were met by his family at the public ferry and escorted to our house, which was basic but clean and comfortable. I can't say enough about how well Ahmed looked after us and helped to arrange activities. He even offered to help coordinate things in Luxor after we left Aswan. If you'd like to experience living in a traditional Nubian neighborhood, Nefertari House is the place to be! It's also conveniently located near the public ferry and the Aswan museum/archeological site.

Huge clean room with A/C, comfy bed. Delicious big breakfast. Nubian village accessible by foot. Very nice walks on the dunes just behind the property. Nice outside space.
