The house is full of traditional Japanese charm, with a warm and cozy atmosphere that made me feel relaxed as soon as I arrived. What really stood out to me were the thoughtful details throughout the space—especially the clothes-drying rack placed near the heater vent. It was such a smart and practical touch, and my clothes dried quickly even during the cold winter weather. The host was incredibly kind and responsive. When I couldn’t find the laundry detergent, she came over right away to help and let me know I could message her anytime if I needed anything. That level of care truly made a difference. I would absolutely recommend Moku to anyone visiting Kyoto, especially during the winter season. It is also highly recommended for travelers who are driving—if you plan to visit Amanohashidate or Ine no Funaya, this is a great place to stay as part of your trip. Thank you for such a wonderful stay and for making my time in Kyoto truly memorable.

Location is everything with this property, which is a beautifully renovated funaya right on the water in Ine fishing village. It's self catering accommodation and we hadn't made any reservations at the small number of local restaurants. However, we found a lovely place right across the road from our house. Our room overlooked the water and despite the wet weather the views were amazing. Our host also arranged a private boat tour of the bay for us, which picked us up from our own jetty! A magical stay. Highly recommend.
