It's a lovely big house, with comfy beds and lots of space to spread out and relax in. It's very near a station, so it has good links into Sendai and beyond if you don't have a car. If you have a car, there is free parking about 5 minutes walk away from the property. It's a 25 minute or so drive to Matsushima Bay, which is well worth a visit (go to Oshima Island, it's magical) and an hour and a bit to Risshaku-Ji which is otherworldly. We only had time to do that, but there's plenty more you could do, and if you're visiting Sendai, give yourself more than the 2 full days we gave ourselves.

This was the most beautiful and authentic place I stayed at during my trip to Japan. The villa is a real Japanese house, very large and beautiful, furnished with style and many historical Japanese objects. The owner didn’t speak English, but we communicated without any problems using translators. The highlight was definitely the tea ceremony that the owner offers to his guests — a truly authentic experience of Japanese tradition and culture
