Extremely friendly family! The adult sons all spoke English well, so communication was good. They were all so proud of their Agroturismo and gave us a tour, telling a bit about their family history. We were served an appetizer soon after arrival, which included wine from their vineyard. We had a huge breakfast with a number of homemade specialties, in fact way more than we could eat!

The staff was really professional and did their best to make us feel comfortable. The place is just amazing, a very modern and atypical house and bungalows in the middle of a river, vineyards and hills and was perfectly located from the places we were going. We had a really good time.

Breathtaking views from the terrace, elegant interiors and warm welcome. Very peaceful place, perfect for a relaxing getaway. I hope we'll be able to come back there one day!

27 km from Nossa Senhora da Peneda Sanctuary, Casa do Desassossego is a recently renovated property situated in Monção and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. The house is fantastic. It has everything you might need for a relaxing time in the countryside. The facilities are exceptional and the surroundings are remote enough you'd enjoy some silence.

Beautiful self contained apartment at the top of the hill in Caminha. The owner is responsive, friendly, provided the most delicious breakfast we have had in Portugal, and offered to drive us up and down the hill.

Situated in Geres, in a historic building, 700 metres from Geres Thermal Spa, Chalet Villas Gerês is a recently renovated villa with an outdoor swimming pool and garden. The location was great. Felt secluded but was an easy walk into the village. There are small supermarkets within walking distance and also a variety of restaurants too. We liked the restaurant at the top end of town - it was attached to a hotel and spa. We self catered a lot of our meals and the kitchen was well equipped for all cooking. We stocked up on supplies at the large Continente supermarket in Lanhoso - on our way there. A lot of thought has gone into the small touches etc. It was spotlessly clean! Susana and Tomas very friendly and welcoming. I needed medical attention and Susana helped me with organising that. Nothing was too much trouble. We really appreciated the cheese and bottle of rose on our arrival. We liked the restaurant at the top end of town- the one attached to a hotel and spa. O The air conditioning worked really well and was needed as for the first two days it was over 38 degrees! Overall - a wonderful stay!

Highly recommended! A unique experience - rooms feel like hotel, everything else feels like home. The family that owns the place, does everything they can to make you feel at home, and they succeed! Very good home made breakfast. Guidness about Geres National Park, given by Brian, was super helpful. Do yourself a favor, and stay here when you come to Peneda-Geres!

Located in Barcelos and only 30 km from Shipyards of Viana do Castelo, Quinta de Castelhão provides accommodation with pool views, free WiFi and free private parking. Amazing family-run country estate surrounded by nature, green hills and lemon groves. The staff was extremely caring and accommodating (Phillipa, we already miss you!), facilities and location are excellent, a nice breakfast. A perfect spot for a relaxing vacation with tons of options for exciting day-trips all around the wonderful Northern Portugal. We hope to be back next year!
