The hotel is an old castle that has been renovated with a golf course and SPA. It is very beautiful and has a fantastic huge garden where you can walk about 10km and enjoy the gardens. The room we got was large. Big bed, modern bathroom, big tv, fridge, great air conditioning and located in a quiet part of the hotel. The breakfast was ok. Good yogurt, cheeses and nice fresh fruit. Strange that the traditional Irish breakfast was served without beans. The omelette was so-so. The drinks at the bar were great. And the bar and lobby area are beautiful made. We had dinner at the hotel once and it was good but a bit expensive compared to what it costs elsewhere in Ireland for similar dishes. Although that is usually the case for most hotel restaurants around the world so I was not surprised about that. But the food was well cooked and tasty. The blonde waitress who served us during dinner and Charlie at the bar deserve special recognition for their sympathetic manner and competence.

Fabulous staff, reception was great and Marko went out if his way to ensure we were happy and all our needs were met. The staff in the main restaurant were also excellent and again ensured we were well looked after.

The hotel is in a great location within a short walk to Merrion Square. Comfortable room and ensuite well maintained with air-conditioning. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was available. Bus stop outside the front gate.
