the location is great - walking distance to a lot of good places to eat and shop the onsen is fantastic - you have to try it the staff are super helpful and friendly I got a massage in the room which was really great - make sure you bring cash as the person doesn't work for the hotel (she was fantastic though. Again, i recommend).

Hotel Kanra Kyoto exceeded every expectation - from its beautifully designed interiors and serene atmosphere, to the attention to detail in every corner. My room was spacious, elegant, and offered a perfect blend of traditional Japanese design with modern comfort. Beyond the room, the on-site Wagu restaurant was also really good - beautifully presented dishes and refined flavors. I also enjoyed drinks several times in the shared lounge area, which was both stylish and relaxing. The spa was another highlight, offering a serene space to unwind after long days exploring Kyoto. The service was outstanding. Every staff member I interacted with was warm, professional and went out of their way to assist. I felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for throughout my stay. This is more than just a hotel - it’s an experience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto looking for comfort, aesthetics, and authentic hospitality.
