This charming Schwarzwald hotel with a French twist takes you back to the 18th–19th century. It is housed in one of the area’s historic buildings, formerly a post station and guesthouse for travellers, connected to Iffezheim’s long horse-racing tradition. It is also a convenient base for exploring the region by car. The historic character is well preserved, with creaking wooden floors and antique furniture, while the rooms are clean and comfortable. It is a nice place to return to after a forest hike or a visit to Baden-Baden, with its Belle Époque architecture and famous spas. We definitely recommend trying the room with the large bathtub. The breakfast is well prepared and generous, and can be enjoyed in the lovely garden or by the fireplace in the living room. Ines and Jörg are very welcoming and helpful hosts and contributed a lot to making our stay enjoyable. Free parking is available, and there is an ATM and supermarket nearby.
