Located 50 metres from the seaside of Emporios in Chios and 370 metres from the volcanic Mavra Volia Beach, this family-run hotel features a large garden with a pool. The hotel was impeccable, breakfast was delicious and slightly different each day, the pool was perfect, and the owners are two of the loveliest and most helpful people you could ever meet. The location is amazing: five restaurants literally within a stone's throw of the hotel and a wonderful black pebble beach about 400 metres away in the next bay. If you don't mind a bit of an uphill hike, there's a really interesting archaeological site on the hillside overlooking the bay.

Almiriki Chios Rooms & Apartments is located on Lithi bay, on the southwest of Chios. It features a beachfront café-bar and accommodation with free WiFi and free parking. Breakfast was great. There were a great variety of fresh and tasty food in breakfast. We especially loved homemade pastry that they served in breakfast. It is a family run place, hence it is cosy and genuine. Stefania was a perfect host and she took care of us very well. We will definitely go back to Almiriki hotel next year.

The Genovese mansion of the family-run Voulamandis House is located in a 12-acre farm with orange and mandarin trees in Kampos. It offers free wireless internet and free on-site parking. Really beautiful traditional building away from main street noise. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast included lots of tasty local products.

Set amidst blossomed gardens with stone-paved alleys, Melia Sol Art Studios is located in Karfas of Chios, within 200 metres from the sandy beach. I had an amazing stay at Solia Mel - which was a very random, last-moment booking. So lucky to have found a hotel which was perfect in every aspect: from the stunning location and the hospitable to host to the complimentary Korreas toiletries. Cannot recommend it more!
