Yudanaka Onsen, Yamanouchi
A 3-minute walk from Yudanaka Station, Hotel Tsubakino features indoor and outdoor hot spring baths with a vista of snowy mountain peaks. The hotel offers Japanese-style rooms with free Wi-Fi. Best hotel in our Japan trip! Room was enormous and beautiful. The onsen was very nice and they allow tattoos, which is a great plus! You can even book one space privately. The breakfast is traditional Japanese and it is so yummy. I cannot eat fish, and they accommodated my food request (you need to inform them in advance). I 100% recommend it and I would stay here again.

Nagiso
Immerso in una foresta, il Tokonamiso offre un rifugio naturale con camere in stile giapponese, barbecue e connessione Wi-Fi gratuita nella hall. This place is amazing. The other reviews are a bit harsh- don’t go here if you’re expecting to stay in a luxurious hotel room with an all inclusive vibe- that is clearly not what this hotel advertises. They provide a traditional Japanese room to sleep in, a separate toilet, all of which are very clean and well maintained. They have tea and coffee facilities, a fridge and a microwave and they VERY clearly tell guests multiple times before staying that they do NOT provide food and that there is none there. If you choose to ignore this then that’s on you!! If you want a hotel with food then go somewhere else! It’s honestly not much hassle to get some food and bring it to the hotel room, given the availability of food in Japan. Come prepared and you’ll have the best stay because you’ll ultimately spend most of your time in the onsen at the neighbouring hotel- which is absolutely incredible. The best onsen I’ve been to in the whole of Japan. The views, the relaxing nature around you, the tranquility. It is 100% worth a visit and I would definitely return.
