A 3-minute walk from Yudanaka Station, Hotel Tsubakino features indoor and outdoor hot spring baths with a vista of snowy mountain peaks. The hotel offers Japanese-style rooms with free Wi-Fi. Best hotel in our Japan trip! Room was enormous and beautiful. The onsen was very nice and they allow tattoos, which is a great plus! You can even book one space privately. The breakfast is traditional Japanese and it is so yummy. I cannot eat fish, and they accommodated my food request (you need to inform them in advance). I 100% recommend it and I would stay here again.

Staff were wonderful, always polite and always ready to help. Despite the location being a little out of the way, the resort does run an internal shuttle bus that is super convenient.

Located in a forest, Tokonamiso offers a nature retreat with Japanese-style rooms, barbecue facilities and free WiFi access in the lobby area. Felt like the price quality ratio was quite good, considering the comfortable beds, great onsen with outside bath with no roof, hence able to stay in the onsen and just look at the stars , quiet location in the mountains. We went by car and parked for free, but I understand they have some shuttle buses for one of the nakasendo posttowns.

Boasting various indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, Izumiya Zenbe is a historical Japanese-style accommodation with a chic ambiance, established in 1876. Incredible place, where time seems to be suspended. Bedroom, dining room, shared spaces, onsens, everything is breathtaking. Meals are rich, various and delicious. Staff is very nice.
