I never write reviews but this hotel was so good for the money we paid (like 30€ for a double, in November) that I still can't believe it. The room was gigantic, ultra clean, with views of the mountains. The bed was ultra comfy. Bathroom was squeaky clean. The hotel itself has a rustic vibe that adds to the experience. And it's super silent. I wish we could have extended ours stay. 100% would recommend.

Posada El Zaguan is a renovated Mexican-style hotel in San Cristóbal de Las Casas. It boasts mountain views, a shared dining room and free breakfast. Free Wi-Fi access is available. They let us in before check-in time (we arrived very early after a night bus), this was extremely kind. Great hotel, awesome shower, good breakfast, nice bed, great wifi connection! Everything is very clean and the hotel is nicely decorated with local art pieces (that you can buy). Great value for the money you pay!

The bed was really comfortable. The staff were very kind and attentive and went out of their way to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. The location was central and the area quiet. There was excellent security and a member of staff you could call on at all times. The Hotel is built around an internal covered courtyard with plants and there are plenty of sofas and chairs and tables there. Altogether it's an attractive building.
