Not at Gran Hotel, where the staff treats you like their own guest. They are warm and will go out of their way to help you out. Oh, and the hotel itself is a heritage site with exceptional facilities & a location to kill for! Absolute, must visit. If I am ever in Mexico City again, I am staying at Gran for sure.

It is down to earth and charming. Hector was welcoming along with all the staff. The food was wonderfully homemade. I think some rooms are maybe nondescript/more modern, with others of the original style and beautiful. We had Room 8 - beautiful. Our son had #1 - modern but perfect for him.
