The room was decorated to perfection with lots of charm and character, and plenty of space to spread out. My son loved swinging on the hammock in the middle of the room. The pool was just a few steps from our room and a beautiful little oasis surrounded by flowering trees. Breakfast was delicious and included local honey.

This was my 4th visit to Hotel Lunata in Playa del Carmen since 2002. On the surface, very little has changed over the years. In this case, that is a very good thing! Of course there has been some modernization in that time, such as very good WiFi for each room, however the warm and inviting room design, the friendly staff and the overall impression the hotel leaves have all not changed. We again had a very pleasant visit and were sad to leave. The breakfast is very basic with some cereals, tea, coffee and toast. It’s enough to get you going into the day, but it’s not a feast and is not the main focus of this boutique hotel. It is self-service in the Lunata natural garden, just like it was in 2002. We brought some fruits from the market and the staff offered to peel and cut the fruit for us. Fantastic service.

Super helpfull and friendly staff. Big sized room (apartment) with our own pool. Everything feelt very modern and we really liked the design. We had our own microwave, fridge/freezer, coffemaker and there was a safe to lock our valuables. Shampoo, soap, towels.. In other words everything we needed for a comfortable stay!

Featuring Mexican-style décor, Hotel Casa Colibri is a sea-front boutique hotel located in the heart of Playa del Carmen. The hotel is perfect, you really get good value for the money. I been living in some hotels which were much more expensive. But to be honest, i like Hotel Colibri much more. And the breakfast is the best i have taste, the service and the food there is so good. With good prices. You will love Hotel Colibri.

The hotel is right on the beach and what one needs to know is that the location is crucial in Playa del Carmen. The public beach is not long or is private, so having the option to stay right at the beach and not to walk to the beach and trying to find a spot to place your towel saves a person a lot of time. The hotel crew is great but Carolina stands out. She is the most helpful, kind and smiling receptionist that I came across lately. She takes the guest personally and it is what makes the difference in comparison to the other receptionists I have had in the past, too notch service. The rooms are air conditioned and comfortable, not luxury but very pleasant and very clean. The housekeeping works very hard to keep the rooms and the area clean. The hotel is located in the heart of it all, in a pedestrian street, bars, restaurants, clubs, breweries, you name it. Everything is a walking distance unless you go on a tour, the closest pick up spot is about 5-15 min away walking. I’m going back there for sure. The bar has a live band at the weekends, which makes it a pretty cool spot.
