We had booked a waterfront suite but were upgraded to penthouse suite do to renovation of restaurant nearby. Absolutely stunning views. Mesmerising at any time of day. Though difficult to tear our eyes away, the very spacious apartment had full kitchen dining room, lounge and a tv area as well.

The price is right! I was pleasantly surprised with this stay as it was very nice. The bed was comfy. There was an extra blanket in the closet which I personally love!! The location was great and close to a lot of amenities. Nice there was a liquor store and Chinese food reaturant connected. Staff were great. Rooms appeared to be clean. Rooms were well stocked with supplies that you might need for longer stay. Really surpassed my expectations!

The staff , esp the one who checked us in, was very warm and welcoming. We came in a bit early and we were even given a room upgrade that was ready for our early check-in. The location is perfect for harbor sunset walks, great restaurants, and bus trips and it is just a corner away from The Parliament bldg and the lake.

Lots of activities to choose from.

Lots of activities to choose from. Was saddened by the number of homeless people. It was easy to get around walking and buses Butterfly House and Butchart Gardens were terrific. Beacon Hill Park was lovely and I enjoyed the visit to Craigdarroch Castle. Some great bookshops downtown.

Victoria is my hometown. I love the city. It is still remarkably beautiful, but the homelessness near the Island Travel Inn was very disturbing to me, to the point it’s unlikely I would stay there again. So sad 😢

Down town and the inner harbour were nice places to walk.

Down town and the inner harbour were nice places to walk. Lots of restaurants and art. The Royal BC Museum was fantastic, both the Egyptian exhibition and the Vancouver Island nature/history/geology were particularly interesting, and I enjoyed the Imax inside the museum. My favourite restaurant was the Green Cuisine buffet in the Market Place - excellent vegetarian food at a reasonable cost. There is plenty of parking downtown, too. In Canada multi-story car parks are called "Parkades". The Broughton Road Parkade is large and rarely fills up (according to someone who works there). I enjoyed the Songhees walking path round the harbour.

Beautiful small town with tons to do and see.

Beautiful small town with tons to do and see. One of the best things we did was renting bikes and exploring the town coasts and highlights. Very friendly for bikes, tons of paths around and within the city. Also, don't miss the chance to eat fresh local fish! So many options and price ranges. Highly recommended.

Victoria is really beautiful -- lots of parks and greenspace. It feels like you are in England. The downtown area is small and, like many cities, it has a drug problem, homeless problem, mental health problem. Most locals don't go downtown. And, sadly development is kicking out many of the quirky cool places. But, still, Victoria is very worth a visit. They Royal B.C. Museum is so cool. And there are great places to have tea. I am excited to go back.

The Royal Canadian Museum is such a gem.

The Royal Canadian Museum is such a gem. Lots of history, special exhibition of Ancient Egypt and IMAx theater. The art gallery had an amazing collection of Canadian artists and Asian arts. Staying in downtown area makes most attractions walkable or many bike lanes for those who want to rent a bike. The area surrounding the harbor was so gorgeous, the buildings and flowers and busy harbor. Don't miss the Butchart Gardens, if you don't have a car, it is easy to book a tour there.

This hotel is full of old world charm with a lobby seemingly from a different era. You also get old fashioned friendliness from the staff. It boasts of a very likeable pub and cafe. The place is within walking distance of the shops and many restaurants in James Bay Square as well as downtown Victoria. There are lovely, scenic walks nearby at Beacon Hill Park and the coastal trail. It's not expensive either.

The Helm’s Inn is a wonderful old, quaint (but beautifully modernized) hotel in the heart of downtown Victoria. The accommodation was incredibly spacious with two rooms and a small kitchenette at the end of the living room. Staff were welcoming and helpful, the facility was very clean, and all the Victoria sights were within easy walking distance. A perfect spot to stay!

The location of the hotel is great. Very central and can walk to downtown Victoria easily. The hotel is an older building, but the room was spacious and I liked that breakfast was included. Underground parking was secure and I did not have to pay an arm and a leg for parking fee. We left the car at the hotel after checking in and walked into downtown Victoria.
