Fascinating city. Much history - obviously a colonial past and modern issues of unemployment, poverty and litter in some parts.
Within striking distances of beautiful beaches - e.g. Milibangalala, Makaneta - and a couple of hours from game drives in Kruger national Park, RSA.

Maputo is an adventure.
Maputo is an adventure. Weather its food, crafts, drinks, coffee or just moving around the area one can only have fun.
It is one of the safest places in Africa and the people are so friendly and helpful.
The food is second to none and the views from most hotels are spectacular.
For couples, families or just single travelers this is the place to be.

This was my first trip to Mozambique.
This was my first trip to Mozambique. I have traveled in over 22 countries in Africa, and Mozambique was a delight, despite the fact that I barely speak any Portuguese. Highly recommended. Lots of museums that, while not world class, are fun and interesting. Good restaurants. Friendly people. I had no set itinerary and just let each day unfold. Went to Isa Inhaca and Santa Maria for three days. Walked around the city to explore.

The food and scenery are amazing!
to get around, one just has to ask a few taxi drivers the fares to the destination; chances are the first taxi guy would wish to capitalize on this.
this is my opinion, but i think time keeping is an issue...but great place to visit.

I enjoyed to be at Maputo on my visit. People are friendly and welcoming every nation. I love them they have love and the place is beautiful. Their road are good. They have beach all over I liked it. I also liked Maputo and Katembe Bridge. Oh that place is having a nice breeze when u drive across the bridge. I enjoyed so much .

Very nice and friendly We had an issue with our online booking thru a different provider and Kripa thakur The Front Office Manager did everything to take care of the issue and accommodate us tremendously! Everything, especially the kind staff on reception( Alberto) & many others, all so very helpful, great breakfast included, lovely restaurant with evening meals. Beautiful rooms , comfy beds, crisp white linen, copious steaming hot water & great facilities

Hotel Cardoso is a lovely traditional hotel..
The staff are so friendly and really went out of their way to assist me with printing, documents, ordering taxi etc. Just really wanting to help. Thank you so much for that.
After my upgrade * see what I did not like - all was perfect, fantastic views over the Maputo Bay.

The rooms where big, great view and super comfortable beds. Big bathroom. Had everything you need. Clean. Fast elevator. Really worth the price. Would recommend it over more expensive hotels I stayed at in Maputo.
