Axat is tiny, but still has all the essentials. Easy walk to shops. Also great loop walk from the doorstep (Sentiers de Train). Velobikes from the train station, two minutes from the house. Tourist train only, so not noisy. Great accommodation, well equipped. Thoughtful touches such as plug adapters for UK travellers. Easy run to Rennes Le Chateau or Montsegur. Big Lidl supermarket at Limoux, or smaller one at Quillan, where there's a good Saturday market. Also extensive fun market at Esperaza on a Sunday. Private garden with lots of sitting places. The river Aude runs right next to the garden, so you can watch the wildlife with a coffee. Local English speaking very helpful caretaker. Very highly recommended.

This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip. A little oasis in the Pyrenees. Different gardens dotted around to relax everywhere. The food was incredible. Great welcome from the 3 sisters. We were only sorry we didn’t stay longer!

The property was perfect! A little piece of paradise with views of the Pyrenees and a beautiful garden to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Great facilities, fully equipped kitchen, comfy bed, wifi and no TV, which was great! Brigette is an amazing host and made us feel very welcome in her home. I stayed here on a stopover between locations and I'm only sorry I wasn't able to stay longer! The location is ideal (<5 minutes walk from the station, close to waterfront and restaurants/shops), and the room was far superior to what I even expected (extremely large, with a balcony, very comfortable bed, lovely decor, and clean modern bathroom). Paolo and Didier were absolutely lovely hosts, and spending time with them was one of the highlights of my trip. What a lovely place they've made here.
