We stopped in Campodolicino spontaneously on the way to Switzerland. We booked Ca' De Val mainly because it seemed to be the best 'value for money' option. The place far exceeded our expectations.The staff and owner were very friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was excellent (they even had a plant based milk, as a vegan, that was hugely appreciated 👍). My parents loved the fresh eggs straight from their chicken coop! Shout out to Ali Miri and the bar staff for their wonderful all rounded service, as well as excellent English skills! Can definitely recommend 👍

Scenic location in a small mountain valley town (campodolcino). Very neat old stone bridge and a beautiful church adjacent. Additionally, we were given a nicer room than we requested (in fact, it was a multi-room suite). They also gave us a nice private place to park our cars. The rooms/suite we were given were not luxurious, but they were functional, clean, and gave us a lot of space. And great views out the windows.

The property was just like the photos. The apartment we had presented as new. It was super clean, functional and suited our family of 5. The location was great as it is either a short drive to Madesimo or very convenient to walk/drive a very short distance to take the lift to Motta if you are there to ski. I noticed some comments in reviews about the apartments being on a main road. Campodolcino is a small town and very little traffic passes on this very narrow road that passes through the centre of town. There was no traffic noise and entry/exit to the property was easy. It’s also convenient to walk a very short distance across the road to the butcher and supermarket, bar and restaurants. The temperature inside the apartment was very comfortable with heating in each room that could be adjusted. It was cold when we were there (minus temperatures) but the apartment was always comfortable. The beds were very firm (as per the other reviews). The linen and towels were all good quality/condition. The kitchen was suitable to cook a simple meal after a day on the slopes as it had a 4 burner stove, microwave, fridge and reasonably stocked kitchen utensils, pots/pans/ plates/cutlery. The bathroom was as new with reasonable water pressure and hot water supply in the shower. There is no television but an iPad is supplied. This was a positive for some of the family and a negative for others. There were board games supplied so family monopoly was great after a day on the slopes. Contact with the manager was easy (we used WhatsApp) and they were very responsive.

Great location, but not much going on when we travelled, probably because early in season. Kitchen closed upon arrival but staff very helpful in finding us some cold food.

Many hiking trails around. Plenty of parking space outside the hotel. The establishment is located right under a ski slope and next to a ski lift - as ideal as it gets for skiers. Tasty breakfast with a wide selection of bread. The room had a clean and renovated bathroom.

Very large room with mountain (and, alas, ski lifts) view. Great food in the restaurant. Beautiful stop on the way from Italy to Switserland.
