The owners were very hospitable and friendly, especially the cute portugese grandmother. Our room was super clean and the location was absolutely fantastic! We could spend a week getaway here without any issues whatsoever ❤️❤️ Oh and we cant forget the adorable cats and dogs running around. We even ate at their restaurant the night before and the wine was great, the soup was fantastic and the meat was DIVINE 😍😍

The location of Casa do Castanheiro is absolutely fantastic, the view directly from the house is stunning. You see bare, wild mountains, with artificial lake at the bottom of the view. The house is well equipped in terms of multimedia (TV, audio, internet works reasonably well considering remote location). There is plenty of kitchen equipment! Bathroom is nice, not new, but well maintained and reasonably clean. Outeiro is located within borders of a national park, it is great for hiking and general tourism around the area. The hosts are not on site, but are very helpful at arrival and during stay, getting in touch was very easy!. Prior to arriving I read the reviews of the house, they mentioned tricky arrival/parking at the location. It is indeed very tight, but so is the whole village. Be prepared for very tight manouvers and cm level spaces between car and walls/steps/stones etc.
