As my first visit to India, I arrived at CCU airport in the middle of a winter night. The manager, Ram, was kind enough to wait for me at the arrival hall and pick me up. The awesome Chai tea for breakfast everyday is really great! Couldn’t have enough of the chai every morning because it’s really good as its made fresh at home. The property is also close to the metro (10 mins walk) which is quite new and it brings you right to Kolkata downtown and other major railway stations (Saeldah & Howrah), and the best part is it only cost 20 rupees. It’s a much cheaper and safer way to travel in Kolkata in my opinion, just don’t use the metro during rush hour and it will be a more pleasant experience than the metros in NYC. The property is also quite modern, with a dedicated ‘tech room’ with computer desks designed perfectly for digital nomads or other professionals alike. I was put into a 6 bed room instead of a 8 bed dorm which I paid for, so it’s a free upgrade! Many washrooms with great water pressures.

Die Unterkunft Lakeside Suites ist 3,4 km von Kalighat-Tempel entfernt. Sie verfügt über einen Balkon sowie eine Gemeinschaftslounge. Wir hatten ein tolles Zimmer mit einem sehr gutem Bett. Das Personal ist super freundlich und sehr bemüht um alles. Das Hotel ist sehr empfehlenswert! Besonders bedanken wir uns bei dem Manager für seine Hilfe 🙏

Friendly and courteous service of all the staff. Prompt service when we requested extra towels or bath tissue. The food quality was excellent every day. Overall a very pleasant stay.
