The staff is extremely kind and efficient. They made the stay easy for a single parent, offering private dining. The kids menu was varied, delicious and decently priced. The restaurant was a treat for me as well.

As well as Lord Fortescue's restaurant, the hotel also houses "62 The Bank" a popular cafe/bar/bistro. Everything was top notch: the location, the friendly staff and the comfortable rooms. Breakfast was great. The swimming pool and sauna at the associated Barnstaple Hotel was clean and just a short walk by the river to get to.
