Octant Douro located in Vista Alegre, Castelo de Paiva. Offering a stunning infinity pool the hotel overlooks the Douro River blending itself with the surrounding nature. Never have had a more luxurious stay and experience in the hotel. The infinity pools with a view straight on Douro River and valley are just breathtaking. The staff is super helpful and authentically friendly. Super looking forward to my next stay in one of the Octant hotels! There will definitely be a next time!

We had a wonderful experience at this property. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was extraordinary. Cleanliness and beds were exceptional.

Our family lived on the new wings with interconnecting rooms, overlooking the vineyard. Since we went at winter the low season, travellers aren’t many, so the place was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is great! Range of food selection is appropriate given the hotel size (about 40 rooms) and the quality is 5 star grade. The only place I can find a true type of croissant I used to eat but not those sticky one in the pastry shops. We had lunch at their pub serving light meals. Price is affordable at about 18 Euro per dish for pasta and meat sandwich respectively. Given the tranquility, the scenic maple tree under the winter sun, and the quality of food, I personally feel worth it. Dinner we ordered room service at about 30 Euro per dish as we wanted to rest at the cozy and comfortable rooms. Rooms are 5 star grade in terms of comfort level, though size isn’t big. Laying in the bed looking out to the green vineyard and hills, plus their complementary sweet Pacheca port wine is another unique and memorable experience. Staff are friendly and helpful too. Even there aren’t many guests, the hotel still put effort to decorate it for Christmas everywhere indoor and outdoor tastefully. Really appreciate!

Situated in a former 18th-century wine estate, this luxury hotel overlooks vineyards and the Douro Valley. Charming hotel with Douro River view, rooms were comfortable and good size, breakfast was very nice. Good location to explore the Douro region.

Primely located along the bank of the Douro River, this 5-star hotel has stunning views over the valley. Beautiful view! Received upgrade and received cava and cake for our anniversary celebration! Great breakfast. Would have stayed longer if we could have. Highly recommended

Surrounded by vineyards, Hotel Douro Scala offers air-conditioned rooms with a balcony overlooking Cidadelhe’s mountains. It has a spa with a heated indoor pool, private treatment rooms, and a hot... First and foremost, your beautiful establishment and grounds and the incredible views! In addition, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious - from the charcuterie board when we arrived to our dinner in the dining room as well as the incredible breakfast buffet! This was our third time staying in your hotel and, hopefully, not the last!!

Super modern and comfortable hotel. Everything is quite new and beautiful. Breathtaking views from the rooms. Nice facilities (pools, gym, restaurant). Excellent breakfast. Overall very nice place to stay!
