Octant Douro located in Vista Alegre, Castelo de Paiva. Offering a stunning infinity pool the hotel overlooks the Douro River blending itself with the surrounding nature. It was all in the details: the most wonderful stay. My only regret is not staying longer.

We had a wonderful experience at this property. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was extraordinary. Cleanliness and beds were exceptional.

Our family lived on the new wings with interconnecting rooms, overlooking the vineyard. Since we went at winter the low season, travellers aren’t many, so the place was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is great! Range of food selection is appropriate given the hotel size (about 40 rooms) and the quality is 5 star grade. The only place I can find a true type of croissant I used to eat but not those sticky one in the pastry shops. We had lunch at their pub serving light meals. Price is affordable at about 18 Euro per dish for pasta and meat sandwich respectively. Given the tranquility, the scenic maple tree under the winter sun, and the quality of food, I personally feel worth it. Dinner we ordered room service at about 30 Euro per dish as we wanted to rest at the cozy and comfortable rooms. Rooms are 5 star grade in terms of comfort level, though size isn’t big. Laying in the bed looking out to the green vineyard and hills, plus their complementary sweet Pacheca port wine is another unique and memorable experience. Staff are friendly and helpful too. Even there aren’t many guests, the hotel still put effort to decorate it for Christmas everywhere indoor and outdoor tastefully. Really appreciate!

The breakfast had been delicious the Hotel has a unique atmosphere and gives every guest the feeling of being a VIP for them.

Primely located along the bank of the Douro River, this 5-star hotel has stunning views over the valley. This was an exceptional hotel. Best parking we've had so far in Portugal. Our room had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the river. Breakfast was to die for!! I purchased two beautiful pieces of jewelry made by a local artist that were on display in the hotel lobby as well!!!

Beautifully restored 16th century building; grounds were well maintained, staff was courteous and friendly. A most enjoyable experience

Situated in a former 18th-century wine estate, this luxury hotel overlooks vineyards and the Douro Valley. Delicious decor. Delicious food. Good location.

The MW Douro Wine & Spa offers 1 restaurant ( D ' Vino Flavors & Soul ) and 1 Cocktail Bar lounge ( Boho Mixology Cocktail Bar ) a Wellness & Spa center with sauna, turkish bath, indoor pool and... The view is breathtaking - make sure to book the room with the view if you want to enjoy this from your bedroom - 1/2 of the rooms don't have a view. The staff was the best I've had in Portugal. Friendly, helpful, polite, dedicated, and good English. The stay was very pleasant. The indoor pool is headed to 32C and is wonderful for evening swims and SPA facilities were open 24 hours.
