The gym was perfect for our workout. The hostess gave as a delicious bread as complimentary. We also had an early check in - what was just perfect for us. Recommend the place (there is a nice cafe nearby)

Absolutely loved our cosy cabin at Matachica. Fairy tale arrival by speed boat with drinks awaiting us was an amazing start to the holiday. The resort is quiet, stylish and very tastefully decorated. It never felt busy even though i think it was over half full. The food was amazing! The chef knows what they're doing - fantastic bread and breakfast pastries but every meal was delicious. However, what made our trip were the staff - everyone was so kind and willing to help in any possible way. We had problems with our air conditioning unit and after an initial fix failed they replaced the whole unit whilst giving we the option to change rooms if we wanted (we didn't - we were too settled) Lovely people but i also found that generally true of Belize. Thank you so much. Do try the trips - we borrowed a kayak to go to the reef across from the hotel and snorkel with sting rays but also did organised Hol Chan trip including swimming with nurse sharks which was fabulous.

Set in Ambergris Caye, Portofino Beach Resort-An Authentic Island Escape! offers its guests free continental breakfast, snorkeling gear and kayaks. We liked it all!!! Beautiful resort with an exceptional staff. We've traveled a lot and I don't think I remember anyplace providing such personal and warm welcome-to-departure service. Food great also! Thank you!!

The food was fresh, staff is extremely friendly. Rooftop pool was awesome. It's only a 5 minute golf cart to downtown. Room was very spacious and bathroom was huge, beautiful patio too. Would absolutely stay again.

Love the location. Walkable distance from the jetty for the express ferries. Friendly owners and staff. This is the 2nd time I had stayed here. I stayed in this hotel too during my 1st trip to Belize in 2013.
