The staff were very friendly, the rooms were cosy and warm and the food at the restaurant was excellent. If your budget allows it, book your stay in the tower for the whole experience. Alarcón is a pretty village with a selection of restaurants and bars.

We missed the famous breakfast though as we arrived on a weekday, but the host gave us a very good recommendation in the city.

We passed through biking from Madrid to Cuenca…Caracenilla was a well-timed stopover, and La Casa del Canónigo provided an excellent place to rest and relax before continuing on. Thanks to our host, Marta, for welcoming us into this lovely historic property and guiding us on where to eat in the small town. Highly recommend!
