Ranil and his team undertook one of the largest study of Sloth Bears so they know a thing or two when it came to the safari. We spent a day ticking off the most wonderful array of wildlife. We were here as a family and couldn’t be more happy.

The fireplace is the standout feature of this tent. The tent features a washing machine, a private entrance, as well as a private bathroom boasting a walk-in shower and a bath. I had a wonderful stay with Riswan and his family. They truly care about offering the best possible experience to their guests and sharing the beauty of their region. They even managed to organize a last-minute safari for me at a very reasonable price, especially considering how well the day went (great driver, breakfast + lunch included) – $50 for a half day, $95 for a full day. As for the wildlife, I was lucky not only in the park but also around the village where the guesthouse is located. It’s not uncommon to see one or even several elephants passing by – though of course, that’s up to Mother Nature! Overall, a fantastic experience. A big thank you to Riswan and his brother for their kindness and for taking the time to help me plan my route. Good to know: there’s a local bus that runs from the village to Puttalam for 150 LKR, 1h, starting around 7 AM, with connections to many other destinations from there.

This unique tent is set on the border of the National Park and comes with a private bathroom. Staff were incredibly helpful, the tent was clean and comfortable and the food was amazing - especially the candlelit dinner. We did the morning safari and the driver and guide were both excellent, spotting lots of wildlife and giving additional information. Highly recommended!

Featuring carpet flooring, tents come with an outdoor living area and a private bathroom with hot-water showers. Includes a torch, umbrellas and a luggage rack. We absolutely loved our stay here! The facilities were so clean and comfortable (especially for glamping) and the hospitality was incredible. The food was always delicious and plentiful and the staff when above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. There were lots of added extras that we didn’t expect like free village and evening guided walks and tea/coffee with snacks. It is also so great to see how environmentally friendly and sustainable this place is - from always using glass water bottles to using coconuts to start fires. Brilliant! I would highly recommend a stay at this memorable and special place.

Situated in Kalpitiya in the Puttalam District region, summer wave features accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a fitness room. Very new clean and comfortable place with nice private rooms, comfy beds and great location. Short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. The owner is also very helpful and friendly and generous.
