Ranil and his team undertook one of the largest study of Sloth Bears so they know a thing or two when it came to the safari. We spent a day ticking off the most wonderful array of wildlife. We were here as a family and couldn’t be more happy.

Everyone was super nice. It was quiet and they accommodated all my wishes. I wanted to extend for two more days and it was no problem at all. This unique tent is set on the border of the National Park and comes with a private bathroom. A quaint and great outdoor experience. The tents were very clean and the beds provided were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly but especially the chef - Chanaka(?) - was very considerate about providing a gluten-free meal for two members of our party

No words to describe how beautiful is the resort. It was the best place we stayed for the whole trip. The manager is super kind, the staff always smiling and attentive, the food super tasty and the atmosphere incredible. The rooms are nice and clean, and the furniture well designed. We also enjoyed a really good massage!

The food was delicious, especially the traditional Sri Lankan dishes, served in very generous portions. A special mention goes to the chef, who even baked fresh croissants and Danish pastries for us—an unexpected and truly exceptional touch! Security was another major highlight of our stay. The property has 24-hour security service, CCTV cameras around the tents, and regular night patrols carried out by two dedicated security officers. This level of attention made us feel completely safe and well cared for at all times, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy the natural surroundings without any concern. We also booked a safari through the hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience. Thanks to Manusha, a brilliant ornithologist (bird expert) and our extremely knowledgeable guide, we were fortunate enough to see elephants, sloth bears, and leopards all in one day. The safari guides were professional, experienced, and clearly passionate about wildlife. From the warm welcome to the safari and everything in between, everything was perfect. Housekeeping was excellent and went the extra mile to make our stay truly special. Thamaravila truly stands out as an outstanding destination and is a must-visit for wildlife and nature lovers from all over the world. Highly, highly recommended!
