To walk in over the mangrove…you encounter the crabs and the bird song…and yes, there is a rooster. It’s fine. He made me laugh a lot! I felt very comfortable here - even in a tent! It was the most comfortable mattress I had my whole trip! I felt safe and secure and very much comfortable to have my needs met. I really did love the intentionality of the place. Selina is set in the quiet area of Zicaleta Beach, in the surf town of Puerto Escondido. It features free Wi-Fi throughout the property, an extensive garden with swimming pool and a restaurant/bar. Location: It´s like waking up in paradise. We got a private room with our own bathroom, which I would recommend getting. Wanted to use the shared bathrooms once and unfortunately every single one was disgusting and dirty (unfortunately this happens when people share bathrooms and do not care about other guests at all). The whole ambience is wonderful and the beach is literally 5 meters away. There are some balconies with hammocks and yoga lessons. The view from the balcony is just breath taking. Also, lots of very nice restaurants around, night life is also really fun since there a lots of bars and pubs. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect, lots of options and huge portions. We expected a breakfast buffet, but you get a set menu where you can choose from (bowls, fruit salads, omelettes, fried eggs on ham and cheese toast etc.) comes with drinks/smoothie and you can also have coffee with it. Taxi´s go around all the time, so it is very easy to commute.
