Featuring a garden and views of mountain, Craggan is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Ballater, 16 km from Balmoral Castle. We stayed at Craggan for two nights, and the whole stay was just wonderful. The reception by Martyn was very warm, friendly and welcoming, the room was beautiful and very comfortable, and Louise's cooking was truly exceptional. All in all this was just a very pleasant stay for which we are very grateful. Located in the heart of Cairngorms there is plenty to do as well (we went for hiking, but just as easily we could have visited Balmoral castle for instance, or we could just have relaxed in the beautiful countryside), and Ballater has plenty of good options for dinner. We found our hosts extremely helpful, and they went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as they could. Louise's cooking is reason enough in itself to stay at this place, but truly the whole experience was just wonderful. Highly recommended!

Lovely quite getaway location. Very responsive via booking.com messages. Beautiful cabin with everything you need for a quick getaway. Nice touch with the bottle of red wine and the guest information booklet, made me feel well looked after by the hosts.
