Unbeatable location in Varenna, right in front of the ferry. This is an old hotel, but very clean and comfortable. Great staff, adequate breakfast. Would definitely go back if we're ever so lucky to visit Lake Como again!

Everything was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had a beautiful view from the balcony. We enjoyed sitting there and drinking our wine in the evening. The location was good. There were buses to reach the center of Menaggio, but they were infrequent, so we chose to walk. It took around 20–25 minutes from the hotel. The walk itself was lovely, surrounded by the beautiful and peaceful Menaggio landscape. Wonderful breakfast! They had croissants, toast, fresh fruits, oats, granola, yogurt, and freshly prepared eggs — everything you could ask for! Many thanks to Foresteria for such a wonderful stay

Massimo and the rest of the staff were super professional, welcoming and caring. The property is beautiful, the gardens and the pool are immaculate, the views - stunning. The view is over Milan and not the lake, but it goes on forever and has a Hollywood Hills vibe. The breakfast and all the snacks, plus honor bar are lovely and very healthy (not the bar :)). Only thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is perched very high in Brunate, so to get down you either have to take the car through the winding and tight roads, or take the funicular… if you take the funicular - don’t try to walk up from it - just trust Massimo when he tells you that it’s a good idea to have them drive you there… it is a rough, highly vertical hike back.
