The location is very good, just walk distance to the Otago university and the station. The motel host, Barry, also gives us very detail instruction and tour guide for our reference.

Archway Motels & Chalets offers quiet and secluded accommodation, only 200 metres from Lake Wanaka. Our room is large and clean. About a 10 minute walk to the town center. We had to change our itinerary because the road to Franz Josef was closed at Haast Pass due to slips and slumps. I was having trouble reaching our next hotel to let them know we would arrive a day late. Mark very kindly lent me his landline to use. Mark and Jacqui are wonderful hosts!

Just 250 metres from Lake Wakatipu, Alexis Motel & Apartments features a large shared patio offering views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountains. Firstly the view over the lake is stunning, was a 10 minute walk from the centre of town. The bed was comfortable, laundry facilities on site. No hesitation in recommending the Alexis.

We loved everything about this property. There were three of us, so to have an extra toilet was a bonus. I personally loved the Ashley + Co reed diffuser in the bathroom (sometimes the little things are the things we remember). The property had everything we needed, even ice in the freezer. The view from the decking was fabulous overlooking the ocean. The property was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. It was really quiet overnight so sleeping was a breeze. It was lovely to have windows that opened to get in fresh air. Honestly there was nothing not to love. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone, you will not be disappointed.
