The Altstadt-Hotel Passau lies in Passau’s historic Old Town, just 700 metres from St. Stephan’s Cathedral. It provides modern rooms, free WiFi internet access and a daily breakfast buffet. The staff were extremely helpful and lovely. We arrived out of the check-in hours so they left the key and all we needed to access the hotel and our room ready for us. I was celebrating my birthday during our stay and they organised a surprise for me: our breakfast table was facing the river, I got a card, a piece of cake with a candle and a glass of sekt. It was really special, thank you again! The room was spacious and comfortable, it had everything we needed. The bed was perfect and very comfy. The location was fantastic for the purpose of our trip, close to everything and just 25 min walk from the train station. It was really practical. We also received restaurant recommendations from the hotel staff, and they were spot on. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Incredible customer service, I arrived extremely late after reception had closed so I contacted the manager and received a phone call within seconds, than his father hand delivered my keys to me and although spoke little English still engaged in a friendly conversation with me. The rooms are incredibly spacious and not a spot of dirt was seen. Any queries I had the manager was able to answer in seconds. Couldn’t recommend this property enough
