What you need to spend the day making excursions and hiking around the island. Rooms and beds are super comfortable, warm and welcoming. Even if as an Italian prices in Iceland are quite high for me, I found the price very fair and the service outstanding. Don’t miss your chance to stay at the Básar Guesthouse while on the island. A diamond inside a larger diamond that is Grimsey.

    Guesthouse Basar is charming and cozy, perfect for exploring Grimsey! The room was tidily nestled under the eaves. Breakfast each morning filled me up for the day, and I really appreciated the ample hot beverage supplies available in the kitchen when I returned from hiking around the island. I was the only guest during my stay, it was a very peaceful trip.

    The host gave us a truly exceptional stay at Grimsey! Felt at home right from the start and the breakfast was great as well. Would definitely return! Not just for the beautiful island itself but also for this guesthouse. :)

    We love Grimsey! The house has a nice character and it is very clean and quiet. We shared bathroom but the rooms are spacious and the host was super nice. We loved the place with wonderful views.

    Clean, spacious, very well equipped guesthouse. The hosts are amazing. + The decoration (old photos, local bird egg) and books about Grímsey are a great addition for stormy days. :)

    Awesome place to be. Great host, recently renovated, neat and clean. Nice room and good breakfast. Got picked up from the ship by the host and the property is at the airport so no problems in travelling there. Love this place and will be back.

    It is beautiful, comfortable and within walking distance to town and the Arctic Circle's Orbis et Globus. The host made a delicious breakfast and is very kind and helpful! She lets you leave your bags at guesthouse until ferry arrives.

    The guesthouse has a kitchen, living room, dining room two bathrooms and a washing machine. I felt like home there and enjoyed my stay. The host made it as comfortable as possible. the rooms are clean and the breakfast is included. It was a pleasure to be a guest there and someday I’ll come back again.
