The owner, Marcela, was an absolute gem, so friendly and kind, a really wonderful and generous host. The location was good, across the street from a small shop where we could buy simple groceries (to cook in the very basic outdoor kitchen) and right where the bus to Mercedes picks up passengers in the middle of the night. We walked everywhere, around the village and to and from the parks. There is a small pool that provides a bit of relief on the hot summer days.

Posada Uguay ligt in het natuurreservaat Iberá Wetlands en biedt accommodatie midden in de natuur. De accommodatie heeft een restaurant dat regionale gerechten serveert. We were travelling by car through Argentina in January and stayed one night at Claudia and Pedro’s place. Although it was a short stay, it was truly memorable. Claudia and Pedro were incredibly welcoming and made us feel like we were visiting old friends. Pedro took the time to explain the area, showing us maps and sharing details about the local flora and fauna. Early the next morning, he took us by boat to the lake, where we spotted at least five different caimans during a three-hour trip. What impressed us most was the dedication and hard work behind creating this place in what was once empty land. Pedro spent more than two years clearing over two kilometres of canal (without any machines) so the boat could reach the lake. The surroundings are beautifully maintained, with a lovely garden offering plenty of shade, a relaxing atmosphere, and a nice pool. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the room and shower were comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. We highly recommend staying here as it’s more than just accommodation, it’s an experience!

De Aguapé Lodge ligt aan de oever van de Iberá-lagune en dicht bij de rijke flora en fauna van de regio. Lovely relaxed place. right on the edge of the wetlands. Free use of bikes, which was brilliant as National Park and other places were accessible by bike. Boat trips were amazing, so much to see and spent ages around where the capybaras and caimans were.
