The room is very nice and new and has an amazing view. Mary and he husband did everything they could to make it a great trip and I would highly recommend!

We spent three nights at Rumah Jawa, and it was simply a fantastic experience. The hosts were incredibly kind and attentive, and they happily fulfilled every request we had. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, with a warm, homely atmosphere. Every day there was a special snack or homemade cake laid out in the common area, perfect to enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea. It was such a thoughtful and personal touch. Breakfast normally starts at 7 a.m., but on our last day we had to leave early for the airport. We mentioned this the night before when checking out, and at 6:30 a.m. they prepared a royal breakfast just for us. We can’t thank them enough for this kindness. A million thanks for the hospitality and care—we wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone!

This was more than just a guesthouse - it was an immersive hosting experience! Ani and her assistants were extremely friendly and hospitable. The room was excellent value for money, especially with the delicious breakfast each morning. Ani went well out of her way to make sure my needs were taken care of, and arranged my hiking trip to Ijen. My last night was the first day of Ramadan and Ani invited me to have Iftar (afternoon fast breaking meal) with her family. I learned a lot about Islam in Indonesia, and how people in East Java live, think and feel. This was honestly one of the most wholesome travel experiences in my 10 years of wandering this green Earth. I hope to return one day! Thank you :)

I Ngabean, bare 14 minutters gange fra Sonobudoyo-museet og 1,5 kilometer fra Yogyakarta-palasset ligger Rumah Gandrung. Our host Juli was a wonderful, always ready to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. For breakfast she'd treat us with traditional Yogyakarta home cooking as if we were part of the family. Staying at Rumah Gandrung made visiting Yogyakarta a wonderful experience. Adorable orange cat. A sincere thank you to our friends in Yogyakarta!
