Located in Besir in the West Papua region, GAM BAY bungalow's features a balcony and sea views. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace. Aron’s bay is beautiful. It is remote and full of life. I laid in the hammock all afternoon and watched the fish and birds all around me. Linda who helps Aron run the place always has a smile and cooks great food. The bathrooms are what you would expect around here, dip Mandi and dip toilet. Not my favorite, but normal for the area. The bungalows are well built, but I run hot and I did find that I wish I had a battery operated fan. Aron took me on a snorkel tour to Arborek island. I saw so many fish! He is a great guide, we had a lot of fun.

The amban beach house is one of these rare places that are not only really nice, but also has personality and spirit, for the owners who live there and the staff are incredibly kind, helpful and friendly. The food (vegetarian for me) was amongst the best that i was served in indonesia, fair pricing and certainly cooked with love. I extended my short visit to manokwari and stayed allmost two weeks in the end. If you are interested in traveling papua, the two hosts Mar and Theo are very experienced in all kind of adventures and are happy to help you out with their travel agency. This is a homestay, basic room but extremely clean, Husna is an absolutely amazing person! Safe area, she gave us foot directions to a great dinner place.
