Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

Hotels That Guests Love in Salento
  • Hostel located right between the bus terminal and the main plaza — closer to the terminal which is a plus for backpackers. The private room with bathroom was perhaps the best I’ve slept in in Colombia. Firm mattress, comfy pillows, clean sheets.. The bathroom was small but neat and clean. Staff asked us each day whether we wanted room service or not. Good laundry service and cosy common area available.

  • - Great breakfast with nice view over the mountains; - typical house of the city that has been reconverted into an hostel; - Great atmosphere between backpackers, very easy to meet new people for hiking around.

  • Great Hostel! It's clean and has everything a backpacker needed.

  • In a town over-served by hostels and geared mainly toward backpackers, this is a very nice and clean mid-range hotel. The rooms are basic but comfortable, and the location makes it easy to walk to the main attractions in Salento or to take a fun ride in a Willys Jeep to Valle de Cocora.

  • - very helpful reception staff - very good value for money - nice location, close to coffee farms - it's a backpacker hostel
