Traveler Hostel

San Gil

Traveler Hostel in San Gil provides adults-only accommodation with a bar, a shared lounge and a garden. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a tour desk, along with free WiFi throughout the property. It was so cheap and the staff was so cool! Thalia, Julian, and Viviana showed everyone an awesome time and set us up with some of the most exciting adventures I've had on any trip I've ever done. I recommend rafting the Rio Suarez and Bungee jumping, you won't be disappointed! I can honestly say that this is the best value of any hostel I've ever stayed at, the daytime activities are really cheap too. I met so many adventurous people from all over the world to do trips with. I had a hard time pulling myself away from San Gil because I had so much fun here. Thank you traveler hostel I love you❤ The upstairs patio and social areas were great too.

La Mansion Hostel

San Gil

Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, La Mansion Hostel offers pet-friendly accommodation in San Gil.

You can play table tennis at the hostel. Piedecuesta is 49 km from La Mansion Hostel, while Barichara is 14 km from the property. The nearest airport is Palonegro Airport, 64 km from the property. I stayed here for one week. I initially tried to book Sam's VIP hostel which was fully booked, but as it happens they are both owned by Sam. La mansion was perfect for me as I needed a comfortable place to work during the week with good wifi, and a base for activities at the weekend. It's also in the best location right by the main square. They were kind enough to let me park my motorbike safely inside during my stay. The place is beautiful - a colional style building around a central garden which serves as a restaurant with great well priced lunches and dinners, or a place to chill with a coffee. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. If you're coming to San Gil definitely book one of Sam's hostels!

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
