Hostel One Home

Prague 1, Prague

Each of the dormitory rooms features a seating area, lockers and a shared bathroom. Laundry facilities are provided on site, and guests can also use the shared kitchen, the terrace and the luggage storage. I liked the staff and other visitors. I was checked in by Cole who was visibly stressed, but remained amicable throughout the interaction. Mimi was incredibly helpful with assisting in some German practice, along with Nele, who was just as kind as you could ever want your host to be. Laura, Lisa, and Marieke (yes, pronounced ‘Merica) were fantastic guides for pub crawls, and the like. And if you want to have fun playing games of the drinking variety, there’s an ‘ole wisecrack Shaan who will be sure to bring the energy you’re looking for! If you’re looking for fun, you’ve come to the right place. It’s got “Home” in the name for a reason. Because you’ll leave here thinking you’ve just said goodbye to your family (assuming you’re on good terms with said family). Happy traveling! -A Pleased Traveler

Hostel One Míru

Prague 2, Prague

The family-run Hostel One Míru is a 10-minute walk from Václavské Namesti and Prague’s Old Town, and it offers free WiFi and breakfast every morning.

Hostel One Míru is in direct vicinity to numerous shops and restaurants, whilst Náměstí Míru Metro Station is 60 metres away. I planed to go with a friend, but she got ill and so I had to travel by myself. But it was so easy to make new friends in the hostel, the stuff helps you with everything and the hostel is really cosy. I had the best time in Prague and can recommend that hostel to everyone. Special thanks to Karoliina and Petro!!!!

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
