What an amazing place! The historic pub downstairs was definitely a good time, and both the staff here and the local residents I met were great people! The hostel facilities are topnotch. Clean, comfortable, relaxing, and secure. The landlord has obviously gone out of his way to make this place somewhere you can feel at home while you travel. I had two excellent nights of sleep in a very comfortable bed and much appreciated hot showers in a clean, well-appointed bathroom. The location is tough to beat: within walking distance of the train station and everything you'll want to see in Dover. It's in a safe neighborhood and conveniently across the street from a police station. There are multiple grocery stores practically around the corner. There's an available car park, but I didn't use it as I'm backpacking, but other visitors I spoke with had no problems with it. I highly recommend this place and I'll stay again if I'm in the area.

Overall it was a nice and cozy property, fairly clean and with enough essentials provided. Owner was very responsive to needs and requests. Master bedroom 1 was great. bedroom 4 is pretty small, suitable for kids. More specific bedroom pictures needs to be posted for reference while room selection as per needs.

The room is charming. The beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows. There is a sink and television in the rooms. There are two bathrooms for the five rooms. One is a full bathroom with a shower and a sink. The other bathroom just has a commode. All five rooms were rented while there and there was no problems. There is a kitchen that is stocked with everything you need to cook. There's a lovely courtyard in the back to sit in. They also have a sitting area before the kitchen. What works out great is if you drive or take the training early, she allows you to pay 10 lb to do an early check-in which worked out great for us because we're able to drop all our bags and go out and explore. I would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends or my clients that are coming here to get on a cruise. The terminal is a 5 minute taxi or a 15 to 20 minute walk depending on how you walk to the terminal.

Because the family room is downstairs it felt like we had the whole downstairs to ourselves. The lounge area is right outside our room, which at first worried me because I thought if there’s people hanging out there right outside our room we saw one other person in the morning.

Just 328 feet from Dover Priory Railway Station, Alma House is a mile from Dover Ferry Port. The house offers free Wi-Fi and a guest kitchen.

The little room off the kitchen is really nice. Their patience with us was great. We came on the ferry from Calais that was late getting into Dover and the hostel’s door takes a code they give you as well as a coded door receptacle to get in your room. With these codes you don’t need to see the staff, if you come after hours.

Located in a Victorian villa in a quiet, tree-lined street, YHA Canterbury is just 15 minutes’ walk from Canterbury Cathedral. Guests can enjoy the cafe bar, TV lounge and games room.
