Cleanliness = 100%! The young Korean staff are very hardworking and punctually clean the rooms every day. You even get a new towel each night, rare for hostels. AC worked well and there’s a shower and toilet in each dorm room. Also, free, cold drinking water near the reception. I was thinking of extending my stay there as it was very comfy. Hostel Petra Marina

Dubrovnik

Located 200 metres from Gruž Port and 800 metres from the Main Bus Station, Hostel Petra Marina offers accommodation in Dubrovnik. The UNESCO-protected Dubrovnik Old Town is 2.5 km from the hostel. The Hostel offers a common terrace featuring views of the sea. I booked a bed in a 6 bed room and I was the only one there. Penthouse suite. The location was perfect. Bus stop right out front into the old town. The port was 300 meters away so you could travel to all the islands. They also gave me discount coupons to eat at the restaurants close by. This was good because it was quite expensive in the old town to eat. I was picked up at the airport by the owners father and we were immediate best friends. We talked about Dubrovnik and the history here on the way to the hostel. Staff and hostel were very good and I recommend this place to the people I meet that are traveling. Love Dubrovnik and all of Croatia for that matter.

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
