The Pax Hostel is conveniently located within walking distance from central areas of Osaka, such as Namba and Minami. The property is also a 30-second walk from Tsutenkaku Tower. Free WiFi is available throughout the entire property.

10/10 hostel. We stayed in the mixed capsule room. The common areas, room, capsule, and bathroom are clean. Lots of wood and character throughout each of the four floors, including a slide on the first floor mezzanine. The rooftop is a great place to drink a beer and view the surrounding neighborhood after a long day out in Osaka. Stay up with the other guests in the common space on the first floor to drink until ?am or close the curtain in your capsule to get some rest. Cheap washer/dryer and bike rentals are available. I hand washed my clothes in the sink and hung them to dry on the roof. Each capsule contains a window, privacy curtain, shelves, three outlets, a lamp (takes one outlet), and a lockbox. The staff and manager are friendly and welcoming. Please bring them a six pack, and say it's from me. The building has electronic code entry, the room has mechanical code entry, and you are provided locks for both a large locker in the room and the lockbox in your capsule. The neighborhood has a cyberpunk feel and is full of many Osaka-style restaurants with fantastic okonomiyaki (savory pancake) and kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers). Transit - Easy. The JR Shin-Imamiya station is a 4 minute walk away, and the station has five (5) lines including the crucial Osaka Loop Line. The closest entrance is #5 at the corner of the 24-hour Mega Don Quijote (Japanese Walmart, blue penguin mascot). Two (2) stations with a total of three (3) lines are within a 3-6 minute walk, and each station gets you to Dotonbori.

I loved the light filled spaces there! The beds were comfy, with built in box for your luggage to be locked in - surprisingly fitted my two backpacks. Staff super friendly and helpfu! 🫶🏼 And also it’s close to the main attractions while it’s in a quiet street:) If I’ll ever come back to Osaka - definitely booking this place again:)) Ačiū!

Set in Osaka, less than 1 km from Nakagawa Park, HOSTEL198 offers air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi. The property is close to Myoren-ji Temple, Ansenji Temple and Fugenji Temple. The property is non-smoking and is located 1 km from The Osaka Korean Church in Japan.

I used Booking to book off the tourist grid. Always love to really meet a neighborhood and meet locals. Never interacted with a Westerner here and was happy not to... I saw enough of them at Osaka Castle. Amazingly cheap place with clean and wonderful facilities. I always try to book private rooms at hostels and at 198, I literally felt like I was taking advantage of the owner with the price to quality ratio. An amazing find. So lucky to happen upon it. I'm sure this place will be very busy as word gets out and 5 star ratings roll in!

Hostel Caranashi offers free WiFi throughout the property and rooms with air conditioning in Osaka. The property is set 1.3 km from Miyuki-dori Shopping Street, 1.4 km from Miyuki-no-Mori Tenjin-gu Shrine and 1.5 km from Ansenji Temple. The accommodation features a shared kitchen and luggage storage space for guests.

Hostel Caranashi's owner is wonderful, he has filled the place with all the things that he enjoys. He is extremely friendly and is wonderful to chat with. I loved coming back at night and enjoying a good conversation over a nice couple of drinks. The place itself is wonderful, especially the main room with the wide windows. The owner will show you local places that he really likes as well and it is wonderful to be able to go to those places rather than non-tourist spots. You really get to see a person in all the places he shared. He is extremely friendly and will really want to make you feel welcome and has put a lot of his heart and soul into this place.

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
