Sweet Swell

Bonfim, Porto

Featuring a garden, Sweet Swell in Porto is situated less than 1 km from Oporto Coliseum. The property is around a 13-minute walk from City Market Bolhao, 1.6 km from Lello Bookshop and 1.4 km from Paris Galleries Street. The property is set in the Bonfim district. I absolutely loved this place! It had gone under reconstruction recently and it pays off. Everything is cosy, comfortable and cute. It feels more like an apartment than hostel and has a great vibe! The place is super spacious, light, squeeky clean and with a beautiful garden. Bed was comfortable and the felt safe to get up and sleep up on the bunk bed. I like the big kitchen equipped with anything you might need (Tupperware included!) and also support the idea of shared food shelves in the fridge and pantry (no more food waste!). Very much appreciate the 'helping our planet' mindset - sorting the waste, using dish washer to save water, share food etc. And Miguel, one of the owners, is a really nice guy, always helpful and ready to give you some good tips!

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
