Holiday Jones

Wicker Park, Chicago

Located on Division Street in the heart of Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood, this hostel offers rooms with free WiFi and an on-site lounge. Offering a true Chicago experience, the hostel is located near unique bars, noteworthy restaurants and lively music venues. Booked this place when my husband got a place in Chicago marathon. Excellent location (3 min walk from blue line Division CTA train stop)- blue line runs from O’Hare airport so no messing about when you land. Only 4 stops into downtown Chicago from Division which takes about 10 mins. The hostel was very clean, staff lovely, very comfortable, shared bathrooms clean, we would definitely stay here again and would recommend to everybody. We had a 4 year old with us and our room was suitable for children. We had originally booked another place in Chicago but they cancelled our reservation and I’m so glad they did otherwise we wouldn’t have found this gem!!

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
