Schaffhausen Youth Hostel has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Schaffhausen. When I arrived I discovered that I had accidentally booked for the following night, not the night I was planning to be there! The staff was able to talk to a fellow that had booked a 4 person dorm all for himself to see if he would be willing to share. I think the fact that I was an older solo traveler helped him agree to this. We ended up getting along well. I was really impressed that staff at check in were willing to go above and beyond to make my stay possible. Plus, it was a comfortable bed.

I checked in online but I still needed some help when I arrived around 9pm, so I called one of the phone numbers and a very nice staff member came to assist me immediately.
