It's a very peacefull and beautiful place. I really enjoyed my stay. The room was confortable, the kitchen had everything I needed to make breakfast and cook dinner. Everything was super clean. There's a lot of information available about all the things that can be done closeby.

Surrounded by a large garden, Youthhostel Lugano features an outdoor pool with deckchairs and sunshades, as well as children’s playground and volleyball, badminton and table tennis facilities. Excellent hosts and warm welcoming nature. We had a wonderful & comfortable stay. The loving host lady also took the trouble to drop us to the train station in time for our onward journey. A Big Thank You for that. Looking fwd to coming back soon

The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. Very clean,civilised people and staff.Great location,next to the bus and train station

Surrounded by a lush garden, the Youth Hostel Locarno is 1.5 km away from the train station and the Lake Maggiore. i had to check in late due to a late night train, but the staffs were super helpful in ensuring that i manage to check in by myself. got a shared dorm all by myself and i thought the staffs were very considerate because i was pretty worried that i would wake the roommate during late night if i had one.

The simplicity of check in using codes to enter the house and room. The rooms are newly renovated (Aug 2025) with an excellent bed and shower/bathroom. Loved my stay. Highlight was having supper in the villages Restaurant Osteria Salzi (village square). Would recommend both to anyone hiking through on the Strada Alta and the Trans Swiss Route (Nr 2).

Friendly staff, good breakfast. The restaurant is good, very tasty food. It has a hostel vibe but for the price, it's great. Better to have a car... not central. Very spacious showers. The view from the terrace is fantastic!
