Set in Ürümqi and within 4.5 km of Urumqi Botanical Garden, Tiancheng International Youth Hostel Urumqi has a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property. Honestly, the staff made everything great. They greeted me with a locally-grown apple that Xinjiang is known for, and always responded to communications instantly. They also knew all the places you could go in the area. I was well-taken care of, and felt very at home.

Location is superb. Everything is walkable. Facilities are modern and with a much higher standard than a budget accommodation. Staff are warm and welcoming everyone. Popular among foreign visitors. They’re so helpful with booking transportation, tours, giving you advise, etc. Great to avoid stress and not have to worry about figuring things out by yourself, particularly since attractions in Turpan are scattered and some are far from the city center. Common areas are really nice and comfy to hang out in. They have everything you need.
