Jacky made our stay unforgettably beautiful. He suggested hiking trails running up and down the terraces so that we could observe nature and people very closely. On his trails were no tourists and in this really overcrowded touristic area was of great value for us. Thank you Jacky for sharing this experience with us and also for organising the transportation. The owner and his family are exceptionally kind, we had a great time talking in their cosy living room/restaurant and he helped us in full detail with all our hiking and transportation questions. In the middle of the night he even brought us to the bus stop. The food is also really good, the yak burger and curry were delicious. The room was very nice, great beds and hot shower. You can also do your laundry and hang out with the cute cats in the garden. Amazing place!!!!

They especially recommend affordable Chinese package tours, which allow guests to visit places that are normally difficult for foreigners to access within just one or two days. If you can speak Chinese, I highly recommend joining one of these group tours. During the Yunnan mountain trekking program, they even lent me rain boots, which was a big help. In the evenings, the host also prepares Yunnan’s specialty—Pu’er tea—so that guests can enjoy a cup together and share stories with one another. Lastly, there is a cat on the first floor of the hostel. It enjoys being petted, except when it’s eating.

Their hospitality was exceptional. They do all they can to accommodate their guests. They served us tea and snacks, visited with us ( even through Google translate), and walked us to restaurants they recommended to make sure we got good food and drinks and we're happy. Though not fancy, it is so special and our favorite . The location is perfect too.
