Amazing location with direct access to the lake, with a beautiful lounge area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Dorm room was relatively spacious and bathrooms were clean. Food was decent which was good since theres not a lot of options nearby.

The YHA Ambleside sits on the shores of Lake Windermere in the Lake District. It offers a range of budget accommodation and a café serving local food. I had a wonderful experience staying at YHA Ambleside. The hostel is well-maintained, with very clean bathrooms and toilets, which made the stay comfortable. The rooms were spotless, and the bunk beds were sturdy and comfortable, perfect for a good night’s rest after exploring the Lake District. There’s also a bar and hotel attached to the property, which serves delicious food and a nice variety of drinks — a great spot to unwind in the evening while enjoying the lakeside views. Overall, YHA Ambleside offers excellent value for money with a friendly atmosphere, clean facilities, and great food options nearby. Would definitely stay here again!

Lots of super pubs in the town immediately round the corner is the La'l Nook superb range of cask ale and the Taggy man does super food including a great range of pies with loads of gravy.

Situated in the Cumbrian countryside, conveniently located to visit the Lake District, YHA Helvellyn has on-site free parking and a bar. Very friendly staff, tasty food, clean property.
