So Young Hostel is situated in Heraklio Town, a 4-minute walk from Heraklion Archaeological Museum and 400 metres from Venetian Walls. I had a private room with a private bathroom and it was excellent. The location is close to the city centre and the waterfront and I hung out with other fellow travellers playing cards one evening. The hostel enabled a good mix of solitude and being social!

The pictures don't do it justice. I thought it was going to have just the bunk beds, but it even has a kitchen and a couch to hang out at. Also the bathroom is private, which is not visible in the pictures or listed in the property amenities. It's quite spacious and in a decent location (20-30 minutes walk from the center), with easy parking. Amazing for its price

Matala Hostel features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and bar in Matala. Great atmosphere and people, a place to make instant new friends. Top facilities and staff. No doubts one of the best hostels I’ve ever been!

Located in Karteros, 2.2 km from Karteros Beach, SAINT GEORGE provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and barbecue facilities. Dorm room with single bed "boxes", so you do don't get wokrn up by the light from your roommates. The owner was lovely. We could already check-in in the morning. Also somebody could check in late at night. He really puts in the effort. Hostel for a very good price.
