Amb el Tambrin vam estar coordinant tota la nostra estada al través de WhatsApp i ens va ajudar amb el taxi des de l'aeroport de Medan tant per l'anada com per la tornada. També li vam comprar a ell el tour d'un día per la selva el qual el vam fer amb el seu germà petit el Coco, que parlava molt bé l'anglès i era molt bon guia. Vam tenir molta sort i vam veure molts orangutans. No ens volíem quedar a dormir a la selva perquè fa molta calor i xafogor i preferíem dormir a l'habitació després d'una bona dutxa amb l'aire acondicionat i vam fer bé perquè sues molt caminant. Però si sou aventurers us podeu atrevir a dormir a les tendes que tenen a la selva. Durant el trecking preparen un excelent esmorzar amb fruites i després un fantàstic dinar a la vora del riu! Molt bo tot! Tampoc vam fer lo del rafting i vam tornar caminant pel camí del costat del riu, on veus el poble i també els nois pujant les rodes de tractor que fan servir de barca pel rafting, cada una ens van dir que pesava 15 kg i en pugen 3, 4 i 5 de cop aguantant tot el pes amb el cap, una animalada que els turistes no veuen... El llit era bastant ample i còmode.

Molt bona localització, super còmode per fer-hi nit just al arribar de l'aeroport o per marxar. Molt net comparat amb altres llocs a Sumatra. Vam estar una nit a l'arribar, llit doble en habitació compartida, al haver cubicles tens molta intimitat, no te n'adones que estàs compartint habitació pràcticament. Ho vam trobar tan pràctic que vam tornar a reservar pel dia que marxàvem de Sumatra, però aquest cop en una habitació privada, també molt neta i wc impecable.

I have to say, from the outside, it's not the best by look but honestly the warm energy you receive from the owner makes you turn a blind eye on everything around and also it's actually a meeting point for soo many backpackers either arriving in Melan or just leaving!

The owner is a very nice man, helpful in any way he can help with. Providing tips for travellers and arranging tour with the people he knows across the region. He gives honnest prices and don't try to scam you. Of course you need to dare talk to people to have a good experience.

Pondok Wisata Istana XI is set in Medan, within 400 metres of Medan Grand Mosque and 3.3 km of Medan Train Station. The property is non-smoking and is located 500 metres from Maimun Palace. First very disapointed because the booked superior room was very dirty and had a very bad smell inside. Bought an upgrade to VIP room, it was much better and my stay was fine. Bed was big and comfy, facilities to make tea/coffee in room. A/C worked fine. Alfa Mart near to hotel.
