He gave lots of good, accurate and useful information regarding transportation and prices and restaurant recommendations. The room was clean. It wasn't pristine and perfect but it was nice and I was very comfortable. Remember, this is in the jungle basically, so there will be some insects from time to time and even a few geckos, but they are really cute! They have mosquito nets, so you feel safe from the creepy crawlies. But there weren't many of them anyway. And finally, do the tour with them! The prices are not extraordinarily cheap, but they are in line with everywhere else. I asked around, and they were all the same price, so honestly, I would be careful if you found a tour that is "too cheap." The guide, Putra, spoke English well, and he helped us find 4 organgutans and other animals in the off-season. The food was plentiful and delicious (thank you, Bruno, the cook).

I Telukdalam, et steinkast fra Baloho-stranden, ligger Salty Dog Hostel, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en fellesstue og en terrasse. Amazing vibes and super chill environment. The owner and all of the staff are incredible and super fun people to hang with. You go to this place as a stranger but even after a couple days you become like family. I wish I could have stayed longer. 30 min drive to Saroke but no problem because it was easy to rent scooters from salty dog. Best place ever!!

The staff is amazing and everything is really calm and clean. The airport is very close and the shuttle is cheap, which is perfect.

Also very helpfull when you need or want something. The best thing we could do was book the jungle trek tour. Our guide Edi Caterpilar was doing great teaching us all the stuff he knows about the jungle. We saw many oeran-oetangs and other monkeys. Also other animals like a weird river-turtle. Rafting in the end is also worth doing, very nice ending of the trip!

The owner is a very nice man, helpful in any way he can help with. Providing tips for travellers and arranging tour with the people he knows across the region. He gives honnest prices and don't try to scam you. Of course you need to dare talk to people to have a good experience.

Pondok Wisata Istana XI ligger i Medan, bare 5 minutters gange fra Masjid Raya Al-Mashun-moskeen og 3,3 kilometer fra Medan jernbanestasjon. First very disapointed because the booked superior room was very dirty and had a very bad smell inside. Bought an upgrade to VIP room, it was much better and my stay was fine. Bed was big and comfy, facilities to make tea/coffee in room. A/C worked fine. Alfa Mart near to hotel.
